On our many trips to Ann Arbor, we always try to make a stop at Shinola. They're local to Detroit and make fine leather goods like belts, bags, beautiful leather straps for watches, and so much more. At first it was mostly just window shopping, but we've picked up a few items recently and the quality is really there! I was excited to try out my first luxury watch!
Belts
We got my husband a leather belt. It's a real leather belt, you know, one that actually smells like leather! It has lasted him almost a year, which is longer than most cheaper "leather" belts he's had recently, and we don't expect to be buying a new one anytime soon (except maybe this one in a different color!).
Watches
My husband and I each got a watch recently. He got the Runwell (41mm) with a green face and leather strap in maple. It has a double-domed sapphire crystal to protect the watch from scratches. It's technically a unisex watch style, but it is way too big for me. I tried it on again and again, but it was too much for my wrist. I really like the style though, but it looks great on my husband!
I got the Derby style with a sage leather strap. It's definitely a more feminine design and a more dainty sized face at 30mm. The cover picture above shows the watch I picked out and it's beautiful! I've worn it pretty regularly and even dropped it on occasion (I'm just living, ya know) and it's held up so well, and seems to go with so many of my outfits!
We always go to the basement cafe at Shinola (when visiting in person - but of course they do have an online shop)!
We've also tried their pens and they write so smoothly and have such a great weight to them, I look forward to adding more!
